Online Museum Exhibit: Understanding Genetics
On the list of places I want to go next month when I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area visiting relatives is The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. In addition to the Genetics: Technology with a Twist real-life exhibit, they have an online exhibit, Understanding Genetics: Human Health and the Genome, with:
- A feature story on genetics and health
- Real images of cells, chromosomes and DNA from 100X to 900,000X
- Interactive eye color genetic calculator
- A piece on genetically modified food
- A peek inside the Stanford Human Genome Center
- Weekly question-and-answer session with a geneticist (you can ask me a question here at the Genetics and Public Health Blog anytime)
I’ll report back next month when I’ve had a chance to go to the Tech Museum in person.
ETA: I went to the Tech Museum in early October.
