The Alternative Human Genome Project
Science is serious business.
But it can also be fun, especially in the hands of David Ng at The Science Creative Quarterly. He’s proposing to start The Bestest, Most Kick Ass Human Genome Project.
Rather than using the frequently studied yet boring human cell lines, or samples from a small group of ethnically diverse, anonymous, and likely dull individuals, we propose a completely different strategy — that is, we plan to use the genomes of individuals handpicked by the editorial staff of People magazine….
The list of People’s Choice of prospective subjects includes some of my favorite celebrities: Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock, and Michelle Kwan.
If you were on the advisory board for The Most Kick Ass Human Genome Project, who would you include on the list?
