Genetic Revolution Exhibit in New Zealand
The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington will be opening the Genetic Revolution exhibit this Saturday, September 3, 2005.
There wil be five main segments to the exhibit:
- An outline of the genetic revolution
- A discussion of the impact of the genetic revolution on New Zealand
- How Genes Work
- The Revolution in Health
- The Revolution in Nature.
Running through January 23, 2006, there will also be lectures, floor talks, a career day, film festival and more.
Designer babies! Gene therapy! GE food! Theres a scientific revolution going on - and youre in the middle of it! Genetic research such as the deciphering of the human genome is part of a wave of discovery that is changing the way we think about ourselves and our place in the natural world.
Maybe it’s time to plan a trip to New Zealand. Not that there aren’t already some pretty amazing attractions there.
