DNA Test Kits at Amazon.com
Before I tell you about the DNA tests now being sold at Amazon.com and Target.com, I’ll be upfront and tell you that I am an Amazon affiliate and earn some loose change if you purchase anything from Amazon by clicking through Amazon ads on this site. That said, I wonder if I’ll earn anything by telling you about the CATGee DNA Storage and Profile kits
But as many people have told me, it’s natural to be curious about the kinds of information our DNA harbors and it’s our right to get tested if we wish. For most people, there are few opportunities to obtain routine DNA analysis. For others with access to genetics laboratories, analyzing one’s own or friends’ DNA is frowned upon but still common (don’t tell anybody I told you).
From the label of the CATGee kit:
Your unique DNA code and image will be sent to you within 45 days. Analysis of second swab requires an additional fee. Kit also includes a 16-page booklet that unlocks the secrets of DNA and explains how it makes you unique.
If you decide to purchase one of these kits, keep in mind that the information is most likely incomplete and possibly even inaccurate. Please consult a genetics counselor or other trusted healthcare professionals should you get results that concern you.
