Grand Rounds #52: The Best of This Week’s MedBlogging
Dr. Kent Bottles at SoundPractice.Net is hosting this week’s Grand Rounds #52 (The Carnival of Caregivers): Is the Doctor/Patient Relationship in the ICU?, which focuses on the physician/patient relationship.
I especially liked what Dr. Bottles wrote about my submission this week:
The Genetics and Public Health Blog reports on a source of tension for physicians that many patients probably don’t appreciate: disruptive technologies that change the way medicine should be practiced. Genetic susceptibility tests will change the medical paradigm from diagnose and treat to predict and prevent, but this blog states that some physicians feel too overwhelmed to learn new tricks and are not mastering these new tests: Health Care Decision Makers Not Ready for Genetic Revolution.
If you’re interested in what physicians and patients want out of healthcare, this week’s Grand Rounds is the place to look.
