Science Creative Quarterly Writing Contest
The Science Creative Quarterly (SCQ) is having a creative writing contest about evolution.
The Science Creative Quarterly is currently seeking creative pieces which show the evolution of a character. But get this - evolution means many things to many people. For example a story could be modeled on S.J. Goulds punctuated equilibrium. Imagine a plot with great and rapid change from one stage of existence to the next. Doesnt that make you tingle? Besides, you probably have been meaning to write a story along that line for some time.
Think you’ve got creative writing chops? (Nope, not me.) Contest ends November 28, 2005. Winner gets a hardcover copy of The Structure of Evolutionary Theory by Stephen Jay Gould.
So here are my ideas for would-be writers with an interest in genetics: evolution of genes based on the concept of selfish genes or evolution of humans from the perspective of a bioengineered child. If you win using my ideas, you have to give me 50 pages of your book.
