Brad, Angelina, and Shiloh Nouvel Jolie Pitt’s Genes
Over at Pittwatch.com, there’s a picture of Brad Pitt, Angeline Jolie, and their new baby girl, Shiloh Nouvel, that most people probably haven’t seen yet (it’s an advance release of this week’s Hello! magazine cover). It reminded me of a couple of posts Razib made about them and made me wonder how many other people have been blabbering on about the family’s “superior” gene pool.
- An in-depth analysis of their beauty from Razib at ScienceBlogs’ Gene Expression as well as a discussion of Shiloh’s mutational load.
- Angelina’s father, Jon Voight, commends Brad Pitt on his highly qualified genes.
- A comment at A Socialite’s Life claims that nobody knows what Shiloh’s going to look like because “Its (sic) the way the genes mesh…unfortunate looking people have good looking kids and Vice versa.”
- Another commenter at Us Weekly is feeling sorry for the genetic hand Shiloh’s brother and sister, Maddox and Zahara, have been dealt.
- Defamer thinks that Brad and Angelina have “maddeningly perfect genes.”
I’d like to think my family has a decent gene pool too but we’re obviously not quite as hot as the Jolie-Pitt clan. What do you think of their genes as compared to yours? What do you got that they don’t got?

Genetics and Health » Archon X Prize for Genomics

[…] Grace at Flu Patrol and I were talking about the new Archon X Prize for Genomics: $10 million for technology that can map 100 human genomes in 10 days. And they’re not afraid of harnessing the power of celebrity and wealth to publicize the project. …another $1 million if the team can decode the genomes of 100 more people, including some celebrities and wealthy donors such as physicist Stephen Hawking, talk-show host Larry King, Google co-founder Larry Page and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. I obviously think that Jon Voight started it all, first it was him then he had Angelina who had Beautiful Baby Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, that baby is a precious, adorable, loveable and darling, sweet child! Shiloh has got nice hair, pretty lips, beautiful eyes yup, she is a gorgeous kid!
I’d Say Shiloh’s Got Brad Pitts’ Eyes And Brads’ Color Of Eyes, And Shiloh’s Got Angelina Jolies’ Lips And Nose - Shiloh Is An Angel!
