Craig Venter’s DNA
Most people probably don’t know who Craig Venter is let alone give a whit about his DNA. But the Celera Genomics head who was instrumental in the first sequencing of the human genome is in the process of becoming the first person to have his genome detailed.
Thus far, an analysis of Venter’s genome shows that he is at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (his father died from a cardiac arrest at age 59) so he’s already begun changing his diet. Venter’s breakfast now consists of oatmeal with skimmed milk and a dash of brown sugar. What took you so long to get with the program, Craig?
Does it really take a DNA test to spur people on to a healthier lifestyle? For some, the answer is yes.
