Latest research - Rheumatoid Arthritis
Further to my recent article on Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scientists at Manchester University,UK led by Prof Jane Worthington, have identified a genetic variant in a region on chromosome 6 (q) that is unequivocally associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis. This variant is not a gene but seems to influence the behavior of a nearby gene - tumour necrosis factor associated protein TNFAIP3, which is known to be involved in the inflammatory process.
